My phone has been blowing up since Friday morning with panicked texts, calls to action, threats, and A LOT OF FUCKING ANXIETY.
How dare anyone think they can show up in OUR sanctuary city and take people away without due process? How fucking dare they call us thugs or anarchists, when the majority of the people I know are WORRIED SICK for their family, friends, loved ones, and classmates. How dare our joke of a president call in the National Guard and Marines when he didn’t do anything but hide during January 6. HOW FUCKING DARE THEY?
There’s anxiety in the air for sure, but there’s also a lot of determined and smart people who are doing everything they can— between organizing peaceful marches and demonstrations, helping collect money for bail bonds, running errands for people too fearful to leave their house, and reporting suspicious activity.
This is what Trump and his goons want. They want to incite violence and distract us while they continue to plunder. Anyone that is saying otherwise is an asshole, dumbass, or thinks they’ll somehow benefit from this.
WE CANNOT LET THE BULLIES WIN
I’ve learned by now, that I am not a “business as usual” gal in times of crisis. So yes, we’ll get back to my novel, and pop culture stuff at some point, but for now… here’s some art and resources about what’s been going on here. Feel free to share or post other helpful resources in the comments, if you’re so inclined!
Community. Compassion. Strength. We fight. We win. We take care of each other. Always.
