Warning: I do not recommend watching all of Baby Reindeer the day before Harvey Weinstein’s conviction is overturned while you’re already feeling disillusioned by your career and life. Unfortunately for me, that was my experience this week in the midst of a lot of day-job hecticness. So, I’m tired and don’t have much bandwidth except to share a few fun things with you that I feel I should share with you.
(I have so many mixed feelings about posts like this, but we’re gonna grin and bear it!)
Retrospecs A Benefit for Green Envelope Grocery Aid! - Very excited we’ve joined forces with Fake Carol and Ben Blacker for this amazing event. Tickets are on sale now!
Pitch Podcast - I recorded this podcast a few months ago and had a blast talking about the fund, but also my career and writing process. Thank you to Leah and Angel for having me on, and thank you to everyone who has listened and said nice things.
PayUp Hollywood on Hollywood Confessional - If you’re like me and feeling a little distraught about the business lately, please listen to this episode with four of my favorites. They give me so much hope for the future of this industry!
Green Envelope’s Official Launch - We’ll be sending out the first batch of grants this week, but we really need more donations so we can send more grants to the almost 400 people who have already applied.
If you haven’t seen Baby Reindeer yet, I HIGHLY recommend it (if you’re in a place to see it. BIG trigger warnings with this one, ya’ll!)
I’m also enjoying Knuckles on Paramount+ … maybe even more so than my kid.
Act Your Age is coming to Netflix! The series was created by Alyson Fouse who was one of my personal saviors and sources of joy during the strike, and my friend Myles (another personal savior during the strike) and his writing partner wrote on the show. Highly recommend you check this one out!
Humanitas is hosting a Screenplay 101 series this week featuring some AMAZING panelists (I can vouch for 3 of them, haha!). Don’t miss this one!
If you’re a writer, please consider taking the Think Tank for Inclusion and Equity’s annual survey. These are so valuable and it only takes about 15 mins to complete.
That’s it from me this week! Have a lovely last week of April (how?!)
