The June Whimsy Report
people, places, and things making the world more bearable
It’s June! Summer and hope are finally in the air! The Knicks won and provided an amazing chant for us all! Germs are running rampant, but so is the whimsy! Let’s go, cuties…
Craft Corner 🧶
The summer of crafting has commenced, and truthfully I can’t think of anything more playful and fun than pretending you’re in arts and crafts camp all summer.
I’ve never considered myself “artistic” or “crafty” partially because I have so many talented friends who are true geniuses when it comes to visual arts, and I can do some things some times.
Thankfully, arts and crafts can take many different forms, especially when you have a child, but for my child-free readers: craft nights have now become synonymous with game nights. I’m going to a kid-free craft night at an event space next month, and I’m so excited. Just have to figure out what to work on…
This month’s craft: NEEDLE FELTING
What is needle felting?
Felting is the process of taking an animal fiber, such as sheep’s wool, and tangling the individual fibers together to make a fabric and/or artwork. Dry felting, or needle felting, requires using a special barbed needle to tangle the animal fibers together, a technique that is often used today to make 2D and 3D artwork.1
Tools and Supplies Needed
Piece of felt or fabric
Wool fibers
Felting mat or piece of foam
Felting needle
Multi-needle tool (optional)
Tips and Tricks
Roll it tight to start

Crush of the Month: Erika Henningsen 💗
Between her voiceover work on Hazbin Hotel, her ensemble work on The Four Seasons, and being a bicoastal broadway baby, Erika Henningsen is having her moment and I’m so here for it!
Runner-up, this still from Office Romance:
It’s in the Stars ✨
Gemini season is… tricky. It’s ruled by Mercury, which is known for its communication and social network, so if things have felt hectic and/or inspiring lately, those are the vibes, babe!
We are coming off a new moon mid-month that’s forcing us to realign our interests, and could deliver fresh perspectives. Got your summer bucket list in order? Great, but get ready to switch it up. This season is all about socializing, expansion, and embracing the uncertainty.
Once the energy shifts with the summer solstice on June 21 and the arrival of Cancer season, we’ll be really in our feels and turning inward, so now’s the time to let it all out. I have a feeling this cancer season is going to be particularly comforting, as long as FIRM boundaries are in place.

Parting Thoughts 💭
If you’re not a subscriber yet, there’s no better time than now! For just $5/month (I know, less than a cup of coffee), you help me pay my bills, volunteer in my community, and be a more present mother to my son, while also giving me time to write and focus on my own projects… so, thank you 🙏
Until next time! Remember to be kind, but take no sh*t. xx

I will not see these, but almost everything on the movie list is worth going to the theater because indie films are having a moment, and hope is running rampant!
I highly recommend having your celeb crush release a rom com the same weekend your boyfriend breaks up with you
