the weekly rundown 5.19.25
this week's intention and mantra, more sesame street, pretend vacations, pokemon pizza, caterpillars, and more!
Welcome to another edition of “the weekly rundown” — a collection of links, thoughts, tips, and other tid-bits that I think are worth a mention. Summer is *this* close, we’re about to enter Gemini season, and the smell of Jasmine is nearly everywhere in my neighborhood. Good stuff.
Intention ✨
This week (Tuesday) we’re moving into Gemini season. Start your week with some journaling and introspection, as Taurus gives one final push. Anytime we shift into a new sign, expect some change and moments of unease. Don’t worry, though— this season is also going to bring some unexpected moments and sweet surprises. Lean into it all!
Surprise! This week’s card pull came with a bonus— and they are both bonus cards! We could all use a little perseverance and patience, so I love this for us.
This week’s mantra: I surrender to surprises

Yay for More Sesame Street! 🎉
If you aren’t aware, I’m a major muppet fan. One of my “biggest failings” in life is the fact my son never enjoyed sesame street as a toddler, BUT that doesn’t stop me from loving and supporting my beloved muppets and monsters.
If you also weren’t aware, the federal government is trying to pull funds from PBS, which would mean no more sesame street (and educational programming). There’s been a lot of people making noise, and thankfully Netflix has come to the rescue.
N is now for Netflix, but I’ll take it. Obviously, this made a lot of people very happy.

For Fun 🤩
Do you need a vacation, but can’t take one for some reason? Gather up some pals and head to a Tiki Bar for an afternoon, and *pretend* you’re on vacation. I can confirm that it will sufficiently trick those dopamine receptors for just a couple of hours, long enough to give you those much-needed good vibes.
If you’re local to L.A., I highly recommend Broken Compass. They recently renovated, and now when you enter, you’re given a boarding pass and taken down a secret hallway into the main restaurant— perfect for completing the illusion of vacation.
Now that my son is *practically* on Summer break, I’m looking for fun things to do, and I think this Pokemon pizza night is on the top of the list
Caterpillar Update 🐛
My son and I are keeping our caterpillar/butterfly life cycle tradition alive and are raising 10 caterpillars this year! They arrived this week, and I’ll post little updates here. So far, they’re settling in and moving a lot!
Final Thoughts 💭
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how healing isn’t linear and sometimes things that shouldn’t hurt us end up hurting the most. Yung Pueblo always seems to post the right things at the right time for me, and this was no exception:
Oof, that one hits the core. Hopefully you find some solace in those words, like I did 💗
That’s a wrap from me this week! Last week of first grade for my kiddo and ten days until we shoot for the show I’m working on! Hope everyone has a great week. Remember to be kind, but take no sh*t. xx
