Who needs a mid-week vibe check? 🙋♀️
If you’ve been feeling rough this week, rest assured it’s not just you. This seems to be a collective theme for anyone with a beating heart and more than one brain cell. On top of all the madness in the world right now, there’s also some pretty heavy-duty things going on astrologically— including a lunar eclipse and full moon this week in my sign of Virgo.
The good news? Big shifts mean big feelings and changes. Get ready, loves. We got this.
Reading 📖
Still making my way through the sexy and fun “How to End a Love Story”
Started “Burnout” on rec from my therapist.
Substack of the Week: Kelly Oxford’s Permanent Retrograde was the newsletter that introduced me to Substack (I think). Her essays are thoughtful, raw, and SO helpful (especially for other divorced single moms who work in entertainment)
Watching 📺
White Lotus (Jason Isaacs is CRUSHING it)
Last Week Tonight
The Righteous Gemstones (SO happy it’s back and we get double Goggins Sundays. I know a lot of people didn’t love the first ep, but I was personally thrilled to see a familiar face who fits into the Danny McBride world perfectly.)
Eating and Cooking 🧑🍳
Been making charcuterie boards for my mid-day snack lately.
I also started taking Elix supplements. I got suckered in from an instagram post, but both my PCP and OB gave the a-okay, so we’ll see how it goes.
Writing ✍️
Finished re-breaking my procedural pilot and feeling good about it!
Substack Posts (catch up here)
Listening To 🎧
My friend sent me this Toro Y Moi jam, “Freelance” and it’s been getting me through this week.
Doechii’s “Anxiety” has also been on repeat this week.
Planning 💭
If you are not enraged by what’s happening to Mahmoud Khalil right now, then you need to be. Please read up on it, and make some noise.
Enjoying 🤩
Anything Gabby Whidbey right now.
Feeling 💗
Better!
Thanks for the book rec. of How to End a Love Story -- much more engaging than the next one Amazon recommended me (The Bonus -- which wreaks of Fifty Shades vibes. I may hate read it. But E L James' writing was more fun to laugh at. This one isn't laughably bad, just... generic.) Thank goodness for free Kindle samples!
