Hello lovelies! I apologize for the unplanned hiatus last week— the original plan was to write about Spring Break in a diary format from the POV of a single mom on Spring Break. Well, here’s the abridged version:
Divorced mom tackles solo spring break with her six-year-old son, while preparing to start a new job. She vacillates between wanting to do it all, and doing nothing at all, gets burnt out, gets sick, and ends up spending the last weekend of Spring Break in bed like a diseased victorian woman while her son watches way too much YouTube.
… so, that’s why there wasn’t a post last week.
But this week, WE’RE BACK BABY!
Monday kicked us off with an Aries Full Moon, which felt right for this Virgo sun, Aries moon, Cancer rising. I started a new day job, my kid went back to school, and there were new chapters galore.
I am definitely one of those people that feels better and becomes more productive the more I have on my plate. As much as I hate to admit, it felt good to get up with the alarm at 6am, get back to my daily habits, and have structure again. Another benefit to the day job? Getting to meet another swath of like-minded people and have that sense of community. If there’s one thing I miss about #hotstrikesummer, it’s that camaraderie.
Some other highlights of the week:
The podcast I’ve been working on, Hollywood Confessional premiered Season 3 with a banger of an episode. Check it out!
I’ve held an irrational fear since I started Green Envelope that I’d get myself into trouble tax-wise, and I’m very happy to report that as of this week, it can officially be chalked up to an irrational fear and not reality.
It also means I’m clear to launch next steps for Green Envelope. In the meantime, IATSE and the Teamsters are in the middle of their negotiations. If you have the means to help industry members in need, I’m working with a great group called AIDIA. You can read more about them here.
I had my yearly Mammogram this week. If you are over 35, this is your reminder to talk to your doctor about when you should have yours.
Beyoncé blessed us with a new album. Her version of Jolene is going to be on my playlist for a long time. I was hoping she’d do her own version, and my virgo sun/aries moon sis delivered.
Tonight I get to watch Drag Race solo. This season has been fantastic and my tops are Sapphira, Plane Jane, and Nymphia. I will say, Morphine’s lipsync last week has been giving me life.
That’s all from me, folks! Hope everyone had a good week and has a little silver lining of something to look forward to.
