January gets all the glory for being the month where everyone sets their goals for the new year. As someone who is very goal-oriented and loves to-do lists, I’d like to suggest April as the best month to make plans. Shocking, I know!
Here me out: January you’re still in the woo-woo of the holidays and the start of the year. The reality is, we don’t know much about what the year will look like, though. For example, last January the idea of a strike was very much that… an idea. By April, however; the strike was more of a concrete idea (or a constant anxiety, if I’m being really honest).
Astrologically speaking (again, if you’re into that sort of thing), April is also the best time for manifesting. It’s the start of the astrological new year and eclipse season, which are known for their super-manifesting powers (and as many of us witnessed on Monday, eclipses are also just freaking cool!) 1
That being said, I spent some time this week thinking about what I want this month to look like, and to also get a sense of what I want the rest of the year to look like.
I usually break my goals down into different categories so I can really see all the steps. For bigger projects (like raising a child, or writing a pilot, for example), I may not complete all the steps of the goal in one month, so it’s nice to see the full breakdown.
Okay, here’s (some of) my goals for April. What are yours?

There’s also one VERY big goal/project that I’ll be able to talk about publicly very soon. In fact, it may be the subject of next week’s post. (Any guesses what it could be? 😉)
Also, thank you to everyone who shared and reached out to me about last week’s post. You made my heart very full! If you missed it, fear not! Here you go…
The Truth About Hollywood
On my last day as an intern at a popular production company, I sat down with one of the producers for some “feedback” before I embarked on my brand-new Hollywood career. I had been a rockstar intern, which was repeated around me constantly. The producers in the office all clamored for my coverage because I could read a book in a day. In fact, during my …
Have a lovely week, everyone!
The picture really has nothing to do with this post, but it’s so dang pretty! Sometimes we just need a good *aesthetic*, you know?
