Welcome to another new week! It’s the last week of April! We’re officially in Taurus season, and there was a new moon! Do you feel that fresh new feeling creeping in? Or are you trying to avoid the chaos like everyone else? No matter how you’re feeling, here’s some links/suggestions/things to keep on your radar for the week. xoxo
Intention ✨
We had a new moon in Taurus last night, and those intentions have been flying! Taurus is known for its’ homey, grounding energy so if you’re feeling the pull to jump back into recently abandoned projects, there’s no better time than now. It’s also a very fortifying energy to remind you how capable you are.
We’re getting a bonus card-pull for both the week, and last night’s new moon. In the words of Lin-Manuel Miranda as song by Dwayne the Rock Johnson, “you’re welcome.”
This week, I will remember my worthiness and acknowledge my feelings.
This next moon phase, I will seek out peacefulness and leave the past behind me.
Reading 📖
I finished my re-read of “Parable of the Sower” and thankfully found it more humbling and hopeful, than horrifying (as I thought it might be). I never read the sequel book, but now I feel I must.
Started reading Hazel Hayes’ “Better by Far” and am enjoying it so far. Goodness, I love female Irish authors.
I’ve been doing some research on “friendship cults” and can’t recommend this article from “The Guardian” enough. It’s from a few years back, but it’s relevance feels even more resonate today. Has anyone ever dealt with a toxic friend-group situation? I’d love to hear about your experiences, if you’re comfortable sharing!
Watching 📺
The internet’s boyfriend has a new comedy special out, and while I haven’t seen it, I did get to see parts of it a *few* times on his tour and in L.A.
Brett is delightful, funny, and exactly what we all need right now— some escapism, some silliness, and those smoldering eyes…

Shout Out 📢
My friend, former co-worker, and patron saint of inspiration has been KILLING it lately as one of the EP’s on “The Pitt”1 and showrunner of the canceled-way-too-soon and unfairly “Clean Slate.” And that’s in addition to being an extraordinary human/mother/advovate on top of everything else.
One of my other favs Ben Blacker, recently interviewed Simran for his podcast/substack and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who wants to write for television.
How lucky are we?!
Also, this quote about the Ordinary Joe writers room makes me extremely happy.
Working and Writing Updates ✍️
My deal memo is signed, so I can *officially* say your girl is back on a TV show. I’m not writing, but it’s a union gig and I’m lucky enough to be reunited with writers/friends/crew members I’ve worked with multiple times before.
As we all know, the industry is ROUGH right now, so I feel very grateful to be on a gig at all. Keep plugging away, focus on your own writing goals, and have faith the tide will shift— it always does!
I also had a reaffirming meeting with my manger last week and have a clear sense of what projects I’ll be working on this year. It’s been a bumpy start, but dare I say… we’re back, baby!
Take Action 🙋♀️
Sorry to get niche for a bit, but the writers’ guild staff is forming a union (WGSU). Please read all about it and follow their instagram for updates.
Union Forever!
Final Thoughts 💭
Remember to take a breath when you need to. While you’re at it, unclench that jaw and unroll your shoulders. Better?
Have a great week, everyone. Be kind, but take no sh*t.
Thank you for making THE Noah Wyle say my name… in a line of dialogue :)
